Eagle Graphite - Natural Flake Graphite in BC, Canada

The Quarry

The active 100-hectare open pit quarry area is surrounded by an additional 7,600 hectares (19,000 acres) of undeveloped mineral claims. The processing plant, using clean green locally generated hydroelectricity, incorporates a closed system recirculating and filtered water supply and uses low impact purification chemicals such as pine oil.

Secondary byproducts include sand and aggregate, which are in good demand in the region.

After processing, bulk product is shipped by truck to rail access in Nelson, B.C. From there it can travel south to Spokane, Wa, and then on to destinations throughout the USA and Mexico, east to Ontario and Quebec, or west to the Pacific ports of Seattle, WA, or Vancouver, B.C.

A long tradition of mining in the region provides a skilled and plentiful work force for present and future needs.

Quarry Processing

Graphitic feed is drawn from the quarry using excavation equipment and carried by dump truck to the processing plant. The feed consists of loose sandy material, requiring no blasting.

Location

Located 3 km south of Valhalla wilderness Park on the eastern slope of the Monashee mountains, the Eagle Graphite mine is approximately 50 km northwest of the railhead in Nelson, B.C. 70 km to the south is the US border with Washington state. The site is equidistant from Slocan Lake and Arrow Lake, to the north of Koch Creek.
